Patricia Ann “Patsy Ann” Egan December 20th, 1951 – January 10th, 2026 Patricia Ann Egan, 74, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on January 10, 2026, surrounded by her daughter and grandson. Born on December 20th, 1951in Chicago to John and Peggy Egan, Patsy Ann was one of 13 children. She was a woman defined by her generous heart, kind spirit, and an incredible ability to overcome adversity with grit and grace. Patsy Ann dedicated her professional life to others as a Certified Nursing Assistant specializing in Obstetrics. Her compassion extended far beyond the hospital walls, as she was deeply committed to helping women overcome domestic violence. A lifelong advocate for justice, she walked with Dr. Martin Luther King in her youth and was famously featured in the Chicago Tribune for her courageous stand against racism. Her civic engagement continued throughout her life as a volunteer for Mayor Daley and Congressman Lipinski. She will be forever remembered for her unique charms like her love of cozy pajamas, long road trips with the oldies playing, Kathy’s Au Gratin potatoes, enjoying atomic cakes in Marquette Park. She had a fondness for an icy glass of Pepsi, a long puff of a cigarette, and her legendary love of Scott tissue. Most importantly, Patsy Ann had a rare gift for making everyone feel unconditionally loved, regardless of their misgivings or mistakes. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Gary John Egan; her parents; and all 12 of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Crystal and her devoted grandson, Connor; her nieces and nephews, Kelly Humphrey, Michael Humphrey, Jonathan Drury, Johnathon Byron, and Exavier Dougan; and a vast circle of many others she considered family. Services: A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 N Center St, Bradley, IL 60915. Wake: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. Luncheon: A luncheon will follow at the family home. Her family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Vitas Healthcare and the Citadel of Bourbonnais for nurturing her love of snacks, as she had many food buddies she loved very much.
