Robert J. Glogowski Obituary Bourbonnais, IL – Robert J. Glogowski (Bob), age 68, of Bourbonnais, passed away peacefully at his home Friday May 23rd, 2025 surrounded by family. Bob was born March 25th, 1957 in Kankakee, IL the son of Raymond and Sandra Glogowski. Bob had a passion for helping others around him and would be the first to volunteer his time to those in need. One of his proudest moments was volunteering with the veteran based group “Team Rubicon” in New York City after devastation hit in the form of a hurricane Sandy in 2012. Bob was also known for diving into mechanical projects. While he had an affinity for wrenching on Chevy trucks, he could often be found repairing anything from small engines to servicing our nation’s military aircraft. Bob served his country in the United States Airforce from 1980-1996 in Lubbock, TX as an Airforce mechanic. Bob’s careers after his time in the service included building maintenance as well as gaining his CDL and becoming an over the road trucker where he gathered endless stories of his time on the road. In his free time Bob enjoyed fishing, restoring old trucks and tagging along with his wooden folding chair watching his granddaughters play softball. Bob is survived by his Parents, Raymond and Sandra Glogowski of Bourbonnais; four siblings, Ray Glogowski JR. of Bourbonnais, Lynn (Mike) Thompson of Missouri, Steve (Kathy) Glogowski of Kentucky, and Sue (Mitch) Francoeur of Bourbonnais; Bob had one son with Pamela OBanion of Missouri, Joseph (Julie) Glogowski of St. Anne; three granddaughters, Alanna (Bryan) Haynes of limestone, Emily Glogowski and Kylie Glogowski, both of St. Anne; two Great Granddaughters from Alanna, Shelby Glogowski and Hadley Haynes. Bob Also had 5 nephews, Craig Glogowski, Michael Francoeur, Terry Glogowski, Chris Francoeur and Dustin Glogowski. Bob was preceded in death by his (Grandmother) Eva Theresa Tomas Glogowski in 1991 / (Grandfather) John Edward Glogowski in 1981 (Grandmother) Marguerite Sophie Michaels in 1996 / (Grandfather) Leslie Maynard Hedger 1979 Cremation rites will be accorded by Evergreen Cremations in Kankakee A celebration of life dinner will be held at Brickstone Brewery on June 10th In lieu of flowers and since he loved dogs, memorials and donations may be made in his name to: Kankakee County Humane Foundation P.O. box 2115, Kankakee, IL 60901
